This is a short film that was directed by the French animation collective H5, François Alaux, Hervé de Crécy + Ludovic Houplain. It was presented at the Cannes Film Festival 2009. It opened the 2010 Sundance Film Festival and won a 2010 academy award under the category of animated short.

These are starlings who flock to form these amazing clouds of birds that move in the most mesmerizing way. This behaviour, I understand, is unique to starlings and it happens quite a lot in the UK during the winter months before the birds stop and find a breeding partner in the spring..

It was directed by multi award-winning director Daniel Kleinman (Rattling Stick) and written by Specsavers creatives Neil Brush and Simon Bougourd.
